

Carla Stoltz
Director of SkatingWith over 38 years of coaching magic under her belt, Carla is the heartbeat of our club. A National Certified Coach with partial High Performance status, she’s helped athletes reach sparkling heights—earning medals on national and international stages in both singles and pairs skating. Carla herself is a Triple Gold Test skater, and she now channels her experience into mentoring high-performance athletes. From powerful jumps to graceful spins, her holistic approach blends strong technique, mental strength, and self-belief. But Carla’s magic doesn’t stop with elite skaters—she’s passionate about guiding skaters of all levels, helping each one build confidence, find joy, and fall in love with the sport for life.

Mackenzie Alexander
Regional Certified CoachMackenzie brings power, poise, and positivity to the ice—and beyond. A Skate Canada-certified Regional Coach, she has 2.5 years of on-ice coaching and 5 years of off-ice expertise, helping skaters train both their bodies and their minds. She’s no stranger to hard work, having completed her Skate Canada Quadruple Gold Test and competed at the Junior Ladies’ level. Mackenzie also holds a Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma from NAIT and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. When she’s not inspiring our skaters on the ice, she’s helping them get strong and stay motivated through her business, Rock Solid Figures Personal Training. Mackenzie’s sessions are all about building resilience, balance, and strength—so every skater feels ready to shine.

Colleen Saskiw
Regional Certified CoachWith over 10 years of coaching experience and a background rich in both education and
competitive skating, Colleen brings warmth, experience, and a teacher’s touch to the ice. A
former Winter Games competitor (1984 and 1986) and Wild Rose silver medalist in interpretive
(1983–1985), she knows what it takes to perform with heart.
As a Certified Regional Coach and power skating instructor for five years, Colleen focuses on
strong fundamentals and confidence-building for skaters at all levels. Her 30-year career as a
high school English and Social Studies teacher shines through in her patient, encouraging
approach—helping every skater find their voice, rhythm, and joy on the ice.
When she’s not coaching, Colleen loves sharing her lifelong passion for skating and celebrating
each athlete’s progress, one stride at a time.
